By March 2024, the fighting that began in April 2023 in Sudan had drove over 1.6 million people out of the country and over 1.7 million into five neighboring countries: South Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Chad, the Central African Republic (CAR), and Ethiopia. The request for $1.4 billion in the 2024 Regional Refugee Response Plan (RRRP) for the Sudan disaster contains $103 million for educational activities. The plan is intended to assist 2.7 million people, including host populations, returnees, refugees, and residents of other countries.Since the beginning of the conflict, Sudanese asylum seekers have been allowed entry into the CAR and Chad. The UN commends India for raising its per capita income and life expectancy.

According to the UN Human Development Index (HDI) report, India's average life expectancy increased from 62.7 years in 2022 to 67.7 years in 2022. Furthermore, over the course of a year, India's gross national income (GNI) per capita has increased by 6.3% to $6951. The projected number of years of education per person increased to 12.6 according to the HDI survey. India ranked 134th out of 193 nations in the UN's 2023–2024 study, "Breaking the Gridlock: Reimagining Cooperation in a Polarized World," with an HDI score of 0.644 in 2022. India is thus categorized as having "medium human development." Notably, India's HDI score increased in 2022 after declining the year before and trending stagnantly in the years prior.   By giving national police control of a UN post, the UN began the removal of MONUSCO peacekeeping personnel from the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Wednesday, as observed by an AFP team. The flags of the DRC were officially replaced with those of the United Nations and Pakistan, whose forces were stationed at the Kamanyola base on the borders of Rwanda and Burundi.

The United Nations Secretary-General has commended Qatar and France for their collaborative efforts in securing an aid deal for Gaza.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres commended Qatar and France's cooperative efforts in New York in mediating a deal between Israel and Hamas to provide Gaza with humanitarian relief and life-saving medications. Guterres that more supplies be given to the area and underlined the significance of this humanitarian effort. Concerned about the rising tensions, he called on all pertinent parties to make sure that enough humanitarian aid arrives in the Gaza Strip on schedule and demanded that the escalation stop right away.
