Mikdad and Pedro talk about the UN’s current collaboration and how to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria.

Damascus, SyriaFaysal Mikdad, the minister of foreign and expatriates, and Geir Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy to Syria, spoke on Sunday about the current state of collaboration between Syria and the UN as well as the facilities that the Syrian government provides to the UN offices in Syria, notably the Office of the Special Envoy.

The efforts of the Syrian administration to attain recovery and ameliorate the country’s humanitarian conditions were mentioned by Minister Mikdad.

Mikdad drew attention to the terrible and barbaric consequences that the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US and its supporters in the West had on the Syrian people.

The Minister emphasized that in light of Israel’s persistent assault against Syrian territory and the unlawful deployment of American and Turkish forces, the UN must fulfill its obligations and put an end to violations of Syrian sovereignty.

Pedersen, for his part, reviewed the connections he recently established in order to complete his task.

He emphasized that all pertinent parties must respect Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity.

The UN ambassador emphasized how crucial it is that all nations carry out their duties in accordance with the UN Charter in order to bring security and stability back to the Syrian Arab Republic.
