North Korea's Kim Jong Un sends sympathy messages to Iran, Japan

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has conveyed messages of sympathy to the leaders of Iran and Japan following recent tragic events in both countries. Islamic State-claimed bombings in Iran resulted in nearly 100 casualties, while Japan faced a devastating earthquake with a death toll approaching 100.

Kim expressed condolences to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, expressing hope for the swift restoration of stability in the affected areas, as reported by state media KCNA.

In the message to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Kim conveyed sympathy and reiterated North Korea’s stance against all forms of terrorism, as stated by KCNA.

It’s noteworthy that North Korea, on the same day, fired over 200 artillery rounds near a disputed maritime border with South Korea, leading to corresponding live fire drills by South Korea in response.
