UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres commended Qatar and France’s cooperative efforts in New York in mediating a deal between Israel and Hamas to provide Gaza with humanitarian relief and life-saving medications. Guterres that more supplies be given to the area and underlined the significance of this humanitarian effort. Concerned about the rising tensions, he called on all pertinent parties to make sure that enough humanitarian aid arrives in the Gaza Strip on schedule and demanded that the escalation stop right away.
